What Do Your Students Think When You Speak? ๐Ÿ˜‡

โ€‹

Hey there Reader!

I still remember the day things clicked in the classroom. I was on my practicum, and suddenly I figured out my teacher voice. Calm, pleasant, low and confident. I had stopped finishing every sentence sounding like a question.

I am not going to say I stay in my calm well modulated voice all day every day, but I had identified it. After that any time I noticed myself rushing or stressing I would just give myself a mini-break of 10 seconds or so, breathing deep, focusing, and then taking command once again.

Our students need to know that they are safe, cared for, and that someone is in charge. If they don't then chaos breaks out. Knowing our teacher voice is an essential part of establishing our classroom management.

My blog post and video this week are a replay of an older one that ranks high on my website. That tells me that teachers are looking for this info, and sticking around to read it. So today, we revisit this oldy but goody.
